An excited love permeated the air. It was a splendid August day, graced with good company and cherished antiquities – handmade heirlooms both new and old. The pretty little pastel streamers floated gently in the pleasant summer breeze. The wedding tree – a candlelit mason jar path and lanterns in tow – humbly awaited the soon-to-be newlyweds.
Preceding the romantic CT wedding, our first stop was in paradise, at Ender’s Island, with its grand gardens and Arts and Crafts style retreat center engulfed by the seaside breezes fleeing from the Long Island Sound. In a tranquil alcove, the couple met face-to-face for the first time on their wedding day.
Hannah & Sean celebrated the commencement of their life and love at a private home belonging to the bride’s dear friend – a beachy and bright spot sitting serenely alongside an inlet to Mystic Harbor – with a ceremony officiated over by the groom’s own father. The intimate New England wedding hosted only those closest and dearest to their hearts, many of which donated time, love, and decor to the day. Candles, linens, mason jars, cake utensils, ring pillow, you name it. A fascinating energy emanated from the vintage cake topper, the piece which was displayed for both the bride’s parents and grandparents weddings (and their 50th wedding anniversary the last summer!!!). How cool is that?!
Following the ceremony, lawn games and merriment succeeded the splendid day into sunset.
